Steve De Gennaro
Steve is excited to be joining with Sage Spa Services in Santa Fe to bring his expertise of the human body. He is a licensed massage therapist in New Mexico and New York, and is a graduate of the Academy of Massage Therapy in New Jersey, where he studied Swedish, Medical, Sports, Shiatsu and Japanese Anma Massage. His focus has been with Stuart Taws in Soft Tissue Release and extensively with Aaron Mattes in Active Isolated Stretching, both advanced modalities widely used in the sports world for helping muscle injuries resolve through specific stretching with application of pressure to the affected area. Both modalities are extremely effective and highly applicable to the general population, whether someone woke up with a stiff neck, or for a sore weekend warrior. Steve is also certified in Manual Lymphatic Drainage, a gentle modality used to help clear inflamed tissues of congestion from injury. He incorporates all of these modalities to personalize the session into a uniquely individualized experience. In 1998, Steve taught advanced Anatomy and Physiology courses for students wanting New York State licensure. This teaching background gave him a thorough understanding of the human form that he refers to constantly in his work. Steve’s wonderfully unique style has had him flown around the world to work with clients in Russia, Finland, Alaska, Seattle, New York and Los Angeles.
